Green Job Education was aimed at recruiting and training people for green jobs so that there will be a ready workforce to fill expanding payrolls. In keeping with the movement’s focus on helping low-income people, people of color, and people with “barriers to employment” such as former inmates, there was a heavy focus on targeting training, employment, and workforce-development programs for these audiences.
